British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos confirmed on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on December 29th, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Healing from Light Wounds

The sports star had been under observation while recovering from minor injuries, his management team had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the loss of his two dear friends.”

His release from the hospital follows the boxing community had expressed sympathy for the fighter in the wake of the terrible crash.
