Eulogies Pour In for Rob and Michele Reiner as Medical Examiner's Findings Face a Security Hold.

Over a fortnight after the tragic deaths of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues are still paying respects to the pair.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director

Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he just recently felt ready to post publicly about his profound loss.

"Adequate time has gone by that I can at last express my sorrow into words," shared Elwes, adding that his introductory moment with Reiner left him smitten. "As we began sharing more moments together I realized this was someone I wanted in my life."

The actor uploaded behind-the-scenes footage from the movie, remarking that he doesn't recollect "a single day without laughter".

"The film is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Values that Rob valued immensely. That is part of the many reasons he was the perfect person to direct it," Elwes continued.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, noting: "Asserting that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still aches every time I remember you." He concluded with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Colleague and Comrade

In a different essay, legendary director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved being with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the main character.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked wonderfully with everyone, and he understood the human predicament of his character," Scorsese noted.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Withheld

Recently, a Los Angeles superior court judge agreed to block the disclosure of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, after an appeal from the LAPD.

A judicial mandate placed a restriction on the investigation to limit the public release of "all case details, notes, reports or photos" connected to the probe.

The Medical Examiner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the outcome of homicide, with a record listing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Response and Criticism

In the wake of the killings, public individuals offered divergent reactions.

Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, offering controversial remarks that were broadly criticized by several commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his criticism to the critics last week. Conversing on his podcast, Rogan described the statements as "disturbing" and remarked they showed a troubling absence of compassion.

Rogan concluded by remarking that an associate should have intervened when the choice to speak on the tragedy was made.
