Two Men Face Charges In Connection With Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Attack
Two men have been charged following a suitcase robbery where a believed to be irritant spray led to people being hurt at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and two counts of using a harmful chemical, according to official statements.
The charges follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their luggage taken after exiting a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.
A three-year-old girl was caught up in the incident during the incident. Several persons required hospital care and were later discharged.
This event – which authorities stated was not part of a series and not being treated as terrorism – caused disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
